Boundary Bay Brewery and Bistro

Boundary Bay Brewery is located on Railroad Avenue in Bellingham Washington. It has a very hometown feeling that is family friendly and an all around good time. Boundary Bay can is a great place to go if you are looking for a fun environment to chill with your friends. They offer live music and are constantly buzzing with different events. Their menus offers great variety and the price for most dishes is under $10, which is great for the struggling college student. They have handfuls of “House Brews” on tap, but they also offer non alcoholic drinks for the younger crowd. Boundary Bay has been voted “The Best WA Brewery” and continues to produce a good time and quality product for a reasonable price.

Bellingham Bar and Grill

Located on Cornwall Avenue in Bellingham, This Bar and Grill is a simple and relaxed environment. Inside is simple decor with seating and the bar on one side and pool tables on the other. It is a large and comfortable restaurant with a decent seating and TV's if you are interested in watching something. As far as the food goes, it is fairly decent (bar food) with the prices ranging from $6-$12 depending on what you order. It's a relaxed environment in Bellingham, not really a party type of place. Full size bar and decent food if you are looking for simple night out in Bellingham.
Bob's Burgers and Brew

This is Bob's Burgers and Brew, located on East Holly Street in downtown Bellingham. The picture to the left is the bar upstairs; downstairs is the restaurant portion of the building. Both have a similar modern look and feel. The rounded booths make for a more private experience involving the people you are with and give the restaurant a relaxed feeling. This restaurant has great drink choices and makes a great burger! Below is the menu: decent portion sizes for a fairly reasonable price.

New York Pizza and Bar

New York Pizza and Bar has three different locations in Washington. One in Seattle, Lynden and finally good ol' Bellingham. It's located on North State Street offering pizza, pasta, burgers and a bar. What more could you ask for as a college student? They have a very fun and memorable setting that will keep you coming back for more, and the food isn't too bad either. They have an extensive drink menu, but be warned these are not the cheapest drinks in around ranging from $8-$11 depending on what you order. They also have a detailed food menu which keeps patrons coming back. Although pricing can be a little much for college life they do have daily specials that can be found on their website.
Glow Nightclub

Welcome to Glow Nightclub. In somes opinion this may be the hippest bar for 21+ year olds in Bellingham. It offers a great bar with a variety of drinks that are fairly decent prices. They can range anywhere from $2-$8. The bartenders are really friendly and the nightclub always has some kind of fun event going on. It is located above Bob's Burger and Brew in downtown Bellingham. It is a relatively small bar but still a great time. It overlooks downtown Bellingham and they play newer music and frequently have different DJ's.

The Royal

The Royal is Bellingham's largest bar, with the biggest dance floor but at the same time also offering pool tables if you aren't that in to dancing. They have a stainless bar and standup tables on the bottom floor along with a lounge area if you aren't up for dancing. Upstairs are 6 pool tables a full bar and TV's if you want to watch the game. The downstairs is more of a clubbing feel, whereas downstairs is more of a pub and more relaxed feel.
Wild Buffalo House of Music

This is the House of Music in Bellingham. The Wild Buff is constantly busy with events located on Holly Street in Bellingham (for a list of events, see our monthly events page). They are open until 1:30am most mights and have an ever-changing line up of music being played any given night. This place is a local cultural icon and has become the most preimenant music venue in the area. They have been known to have the best live music in the area, and can be followed on Facebook to receive the most up to date information on events. Overall, this is the best place in to go in Bellingham if you are looking for great live music and a great envrioment, be warned however that it is a somewhat small location but if you don't mind that it's a great time.
Uisce

Uisce (pronounced: Ish-kah) is an Irish pub located in Downtown Bellingham that authentically pours local and European ales. It also has the largest Irish Whiskey and Scotch selection in Bellingham. All in all it is an authentic Irish pub environment serving the best that different regions have to offer.

Bayou on Bay

Bayou on the Bay is separated into two different restaurants essentially. They have the actual restaurant portion of the building and they have an oyster bar, for the purpose of this website we are going to focus on the restaurant portion. Bayou, on Bay Street is a great location, especially in the summer season when they offer outdoor seating. It is in the heart of downtown Bellingham and brings a Cajun and Creole feel to the area. The bar features 6 rotating taps a full bar and drink specials. The bar is open until midnight or later, depending on what night you are there.
Brandywine Kitchen

"From Seed to Plate" This is the first thing you seen when you visit Brandywine Kitchen's website. The concept of this resturant is that they use local ingredients to provdie the utmost freshness in their dishes. Located on Commercial Street in Bellingham and open until 10p, Brandywine Kitchen is a great place to go if you are looking for a unique place to eat and experience different food. They have handfuls of different they offer pretty reasonable prices (that can be found on their website) and the fact that they use local ingredients makes the place standout among competition in Bellingham. You can also find them on Facebook where they update constantly about what is going on in their resturant.
Jalapenos

Home of the Big Mama Margarita, Jalapenos has 3 different locations in Bellingham. There is one in Fairhaven, Barkley Village and on West Holly Street, basically surrounding Western Washington University. Jalapenos offers a variety of different services, from outdoor dining (when the season allows), takeout, and full service dining. The location in Fairhaven is really pretty great, it has two stories downstairs being a more restaurant feel and upstairs being where the patio dining and more of the bar. They are open 7 days a week, and offer a great drink menu.
The Beaver Inn

The Beav can be said to be one of Bellingham's favorite bars, especially for college students. They have a decent selection of micro-brews and offer them at a more than fair price for college students. The food is typical bar food, but has the reputation of being surprisingly decent. As far as the environment, there are a few pool tables, air hockey, and a few TV's around if you are interested in watching the game, they also have darts and pull tabs for those interested in gambling. They offer $5 pitchers every night of the week and also have a full bar available. Some say that the furniture is tacky and that it is a rather old location, but nonetheless it is fairly priced for college students and the location is close to WWU.
Skylark's Hidden Cafe

Be warned, this Hidden Cafe cannot be found in Downtown Bellingham. This jazzy place is located in Fairhaven, The Historic District to be exact. Regardless, this is a great place to visit as long as you have a designated driver. They have a budget menu for us broke college students, that keeps the dishes under $10. They also offer a late night menu from 9-midnight that is fairly reasonable too if you are looking for a late night bite. Skylarks has a variety of different events going on at any given time, the downfall being that you can't view the events online. However, they do have a pretty good website that gives you directions and a handful of different menu's depending on what you are looking for. Inside the cafe itself is a chill environment that can be described as low key and jazz like.
The Copper Hog

The Copper Hog is located on North State Street in Bellingham Washington. They are not only decent for checking out at night, but they are now offering a lunch menu and opening at 12 (noon). Their lunch menu is a little less spendy than their dinner menu which ranges from $10-$20, leaning more to the $20. They have over a dozen beverages on tap and the environment its great for going out. It is a calmer setting for eating, with candles and low lighting.
The World Famous Up and Up

The Up and Up draws mostly a college aged crowd, which is perfect for Western. The accommodate their crowd by serving cheap beverages and offering loud music for a good time. They are located on North State Street and the place is also known to be a pretty decent "pre-funk" bar (with great pizza) in downtown Bellingham.
